Byggforsk.no - Redesigning Search Engine Algorithm
This project I am currenly working on at Sintef as a UX-Designer. Redesigning the search engine algorithm for Byggforsk.no requires an interdisciplinary approach - it is a project at the turn of design research, UX-design, SEO, IT, computational linguistics, linguistic grammar as well as building area as it concerns the content.
The aim of the project is to define new rules for algorithm construction in order to simplify the complex system with a huge ammount of data, to get better relevance in search results. It is also important to design the visual part of the search and to improve its usability after getting the insight into user feedbacks, search data analytics, problems/ solutions/ ideas. As well as to test out the new algorithm on a test platform that helps to visualize the results. It also has been designed and developped specially for this project (see UI on the last pic).
