Byggfork (Sintef) - Summer Internship in UX Design
Under the summer internship at Sintef in 2019 I worked as a UX-designer on 2 projects. The first project, and the main project, is concerning about developping a better usability for Byggforsk.no, a website for ‘Byggforskserien’, a collection of documented solutions within building area. This project was made in a team of 4 students with different expert knowledges - in building engineering, architecture, digital business development and UX-design. The second project is a one-week project, called ‘Rafter Calc’ - it is a building calculation product made in a team with 2 other students with a competence in IT developers.
The aim of the project for ‘Byggforsk’ was to create a better version of the website - to be able to communicate a huge ammount of the technical content in a accessible and comprehensible way by improving visual design and user flow. Together with my colleagues we’ve done a research, concept development, business strategy development, defined different user groups and their needs, analized user journeys with the most important touch points for the digital products as well as services.
My contribution to the project consisted in guiding the process of designing of the first paper prototype for the website, visual and brand identity development, mapping out user flow and design ideas/solutions, sketching digital prototypes.
For the ‘Rafter Calc’ program I’ve developped 4 concepts to choose the suitable version balancing between user expextations and technicals requirements from the IT team.
